Frida Kahlo began painting after a traffic accident in her youth. The marriage to Diego Rivera in 1929 placed her foremost on the artistic scene, not only in Mexico's cultural renaissance, but also in the United States.
The poet André Breton has praised Frida Khalo, which made her join international surrealism and was allowed to exhibit her works in Paris in 1939 to the admiration of Picasso, Kandinsky and Duchamp.
